Mailchimp is the world’s largest marketing automation platform. Marketing campaigns allow you to engage more with your members and build your brand by sending custom emails and newsletters, automating your marketing, and putting your data to work.
How It Works
Cobot's integration with MailChimp allows you to link the two accounts so that:
Existing active space members are added to the list immediately (called 'Audience' in Mailchimp).
New members are added when they register with your space (if they opt-in on the signup form).
Members stay in your Mailchimp list until they unsubscribe themselves from the newsletter.
When you link the two accounts, existing active members will be immediately added to a MailChimp list of your choice. They must have checked the "I agree to receive e-mail newsletters in the future" box at signup to be added.
New members will be automatically added when registered in your space.
Less work for you!
There are four instances when your members are added to your Mailchimp account:
When a member is confirmed. This can be when you add the member or when the member registers and you confirm their membership.
When a member is connected to a user (in case the member had no email address when they were confirmed).
When a member changes their plan (because we send the plan name to Mailchimp and need to keep it up-to-date).
When a member updates their details (which could mean changing their email address).
Note: If a member cancels, they will still receive Mailchimp newsletters until they unsubscribe from Mailchimp. If they change their email in Cobot, they will still receive emails at their old address until - you guessed it - unsubscribe from Mailchimp.
Information Synchronized Between Cobot & MailChimp
When your members are added to your MailChimp list from Cobot, it automatically brings in a few data points:

Troubleshooting
Not all of you members have not been added to Mailchimp after setting up the sync:
This is likely because those members have not checked the "I agree to receive e-mail newsletters in the future" box when they signed up to your space. Due to GDPR, we are obligated to exclude members who do not check this box from being automatically added to Mailchimp. You will need to manually add those members if you wish to include them on any of your mailing lists.
EU/GDPR
As a part of the General Data Protection Regulation, your members need to double opt-in for any newsletters you might send.
The first opt-in step is a checkbox on the signup page where users can agree to receive such emails in the future (this can also be changed in the settings later).
The second opt-in option comes in an opt-in email that they receive (configured in your Mailchimp account), where they must click a link to confirm their subscription.
Without this approval, it's impossible to add a member to any list. However, your member will still be able to signup even if they do not check this box.
