Dormakaba Exivo (being rebranded to Resivo Business in 2026) is the access control solution for spaces that want to securely grant the right access to their members and visitors. The integration is designed for both data security and ease of use.

Learn how to set up the integration in just a few steps!

Please note: The integration only works for spaces using the Dormakaba Exivo or Resivo Business software.

Set up Your Dormakaba Account

Before connecting Cobot and Dormakaba, you need to set up the following parts in your Dormakaba Exivo or Resivo Business account:

  • Doors (e.g. Main Entrance)

  • Access Groups (e.g. Premium Members, Students, etc.).

💡 Access Groups define what members can access in your space. Your members are automatically assigned to the appropriate groups based on their plans in Cobot.

If you are unsure how to perform any of the above actions, please contact Dormakaba support directly for assistance.

Connect Cobot to Dormakaba Exivo/Resivo Business

Once you have set up your Access Groups in your Dormakaba account, you can connect everything with Cobot.

  1. Log in to the admin page of your Cobot account .

  2. Click on Add-ons » Available add-ons » Dormakaba Exivo » Set up Spaces integration » Set up. You will see this screen asking you to add your API key.

  3. Copy the API information from your Dormakaba account under API settings and paste it into Cobot on the Create integration with Dormakaba facility page.

  • You will need to generate new API credentials to get a secret ID key.

After clicking on Save you will be redirected to your Cobot account.

💡 You will now find the integration in your Cobot account under Set up » Dormakaba Exivo.

From there, you can now finalize the setup for the integration by completing the following:

Enable Mobile Access

This setting ensures your Cobot members can access your space using their mobile phones.

Manage Your Members

Here you will find the Exivo status of your Cobot member as well as their Dormakaba Access Group.

  • You can view whether your Cobot members are connected to Exivo and which Access Group they are assigned to.

  • Additionally, you can see if any members are blocked, for example, due to not having any Time Passes.

Booking Settings

In this section, you define how access works for both member bookings and external bookings.

Member Bookings

For member bookings, you can configure the access window:

  • Lead time: How long before the booking access becomes active (e.g. 15 minutes prior to the meeting).

  • Follow-up time: How long after the booking access remains active (e.g. 5 minutes after meeting ends)

External Bookings

In addition to granting access for your regular members, you can also enable access for external bookings in this section.

💡 To allow access for guests with external bookings, you can enable Access for external bookings via the checkbox.

Checkbox to activate Dormakaba access for external bookings in Cobot.

Once external bookings access is activated, you can configure:

  • Lead time: How long before the booking access becomes active (e.g. 15 minutes prior to the meeting).

  • Follow-up time: How long after the booking access remains active (e.g. 5 minutes after meeting ends)

  • Access via mobile access: Activate this option if your doors do not have a pin pad. After booking, your visitors will receive a text message with instructions on how to download the Dormakaba Mobile Access app. This app is then used to open the doors.

  • Access via PIN code: Allow your visitors to open the door using a PIN code (only possible if you have a PIN pad on your door).

  • Message: A customized email sent by Cobot to your guests

Webhooks

These settings ensure that Cobot stays updated about all events and changes from the Dormakaba system, which is essential for the integration to function correctly. Without them, members will not be automatically checked in when they unlock a door, and any applicable Time Passes will not be deducted as expected.

  • Detailed setup and configuration instructions can be found under the Dormakaba Webhooks tab in Cobot.

Grant Your Members Access to Your Space

Access Via Membership Plan

Members gain access to Dormakaba locks automatically through their Cobot membership plan. Once a member signs up for a specific plan in Cobot, their access credentials are synced with the Dormakaba system, allowing them to enter designated areas according to their membership level.

💡 Give your Premium members round-the-clock access and entry to more doors, while members on Basic plans can only open doors during specific hours.

Access is granted or revoked automatically based on the member’s active status in Cobot, eliminating the need for manual updates or key distribution.

Access Via Time Passes

If Time Passes are included in your Cobot membership plans, member access to your space is controlled based on their remaining passes. Members can only enter if they have at least one Time Pass on their account – if none are available, access will be denied.

When a member enters the space for the first time in a day, one Time Pass is automatically deducted. After that, they can freely use the space and open doors as needed for the rest of the day without additional passes being deducted. To regain access once passes run out, members must purchase new Time Passes.

Important Notes on Time Passes

  • Access to Time Passes is not restricted by the valid for period setting in Cobot.

  • Example: If the Time Pass has a valid for period setting of 10:00 am - 5:00 pm and the member enters your space at 9:00 am, they can still gain access but will not be checked in. Only if the member enters your space within the valid for time frame will they be checked in.

  • Members with Time Passes will only lose access if there are no Time Passes left on their accounts, so make sure they make it clear that they need to purchase Time Passes before they enter your space.

Access Via Resource Bookings

Member Bookings

In addition to access based on membership pans, access can also be tied to resource bookings.

When a member reserves a resource in Cobot through their Member Portal or the Cobot Members App, Dormakaba access is automatically granted for the specific resource and time of the booking.

💡 How Members Open Your Doors

When members sign up for your space, they automatically receive an SMS from Dormakaba with instructions to download the app.

Whenever they want to access your space, they can simply hold their phone in front of the door to unlock it.

External Bookings

As previously described here, you can enable access for external visitors by selecting the checkbox under Setup » Dormakaba Exivo » Buchungseinstellungen » Externe Buchungen

Checkbox to activate Dormakaba access for external bookings in Cobot.

Once enabled, visitors who book externally via your homepage will also be granted access.

💡How Visitors Open Your Doors

Mobile Access

  • By default, your visitors receive an SMS from Dormakaba with instructions to download the Mobile Access app.

  • Once the app is installed, they can unlock the door simply by holding their phone in front of the reader.

Access via Link and PIN

  • If enabled in your settings, visitors will also receive an email from Cobot containing a PIN code.

  • By clicking the link and entering the PIN, the door will unlock automatically.

Mobile Access vs. SwissPass Access

There are two ways for your members to open your doors: Via their mobile phone (Mobile Access) or their SwissPass (SwissPass Access, only available in Switzerland).

Mobile Access (Default)

💡 Opening doors via the Dormakaba app (mobile access) is the default.

To make sure Cobot has your members' pone numbers, activate the feature Show phone on member sign-up and Phone required on member sign-up in Cobot under Customize » Features » Sign-up.

Show phone on member sign-up setting in Cobot.

As soon as mobile access is activated, new members can enter their phone numbers in Cobot and use their mobile phones to open the doors to your space.

SwissPass Access (Legacy)

Please Note: SwissPass access is available upon request—contact our support team to enable it

Once the integration is set up and SwissPass access activated, your members will see an additional page for SwissPass & Access in their Cobot Member Portal.

To register, they only need to enter their SwissPass ID and postcode once. After that, they can simply hold their pass in front of the lock to access the doors included in their membership.

Block And Revoke Access

Only active/current Cobot members can access your space. In other words, access is automatically denied to any member who does not have an active membership in Cobot.
