Each member of your space can share facts about themselves in your Community Directory. Members add contact information, social media handles and a bio, increasing connectivity and community between members in your space.

This guide will cover:

The Community Directory in the Admin Portal

Navigate to the Community Directory under Manage » Community Directory.

When a new member is registered, either manually in the admin portal or via your Homepage/Signup Pages, a community card is automatically created in this section.

Only members, or people registered on a membership plan, are shown in your Community Directory. Contacts do not have community cards created.

Filling Out Community Cards as an Admin

You have the choice to enter in your members profile data for them. Click on View Profile » Edit.

Once you have completed the form, click 'Save and Notify Member'.

IMPORTANT NOTES

  • It is not possible to add or edit member information without notifying the member that their personal data has been modified. You can find and edit the email template that is sent to the member under Customize » Emails.

Downloading Member Data

You can easily download your community directory data as CSV, e.g., to get a birthday list. The download also contains the membership_id and email to link it to other membership data.

Members Adding Their Data via Their Member Portal

Once your member is registered and connected to their member portal, they have access to the Community tab. They can edit their community card in one of two ways:

  1. Click on 'Edit' on their card permanently posted to their dashboard.

  2. Clicking into the Community tab in the menu View Profile » Edit.

IMPORTANT NOTES

  • Members can add their data without publishing it. They have the choice to move their community card to public (visible to other members) or private (only visible to them and admins) at any time.

So, what data can your members add?

  • Profile photos. Send your member this guide if they are having issues.

  • A bio (max 180 characters).

    • Anything they add here will be searchable by other members in the space, so prompt them to add keywords about what kind of business they have or services they offer.

  • Pronouns

    • If filled in, the pronouns will be displayed next to their name on community profiles and on the membership pages that admins see.

    • Administrators can also set their pronouns in their profiles via the admin portal.

  • Location

  • Company Name

  • Birthday

    • The member will automatically receive a "Happy Birthday" email when a birthday is added. Check out this guide to learn how to manage these emails.

  • Website

  • Email

    • It can be a different email than the one they signed up with.

    • To edit their signup email, they need to do so via their account page.

  • Phone Number

    • It can be a different phone number than the one they signed up with.

    • To edit their signup phone number, they need to do so via their account page.

  • Twitter

  • Instagram

  • Facebook

  • LinkedIn

  • GitHub

IMPORTANT NOTES

  • It is not currently possible to add additional fields. Contact us with your request, and we will add it to our feature request list.

  • All fields are optional. It is not possible to make any of them required.

Hiding the Community Directory in the Member Portal

If you do not want to show the community directory to your members at all, send us a request and we will hide it for you. You will still be able to see it within the member portal.

Publishing Member Data

Members Community Cards are 'Private' by default, meaning only they and admins of your space can see the information added.

Due to GDPR, any member profiles published by an admin will result in an email notification sent to the member. It is not possible to disable these notifications.

Edit the content of the email under Customize » Emails.

Members can 'Publish' their profiles, making it visible to other members in your space from their dashboard or their profile in the Community tab.

Admins can also 'Publish' their member's profiles from the Community section in the admin dashboard under Manage » Community Directory.

Embedding Members on Your Website

You can display this list of your members, as well as their publicly shared information, on your website to showcase the wide range of professionals in your space.

Check out this guide to learn how to do this.
